Midsummer - Poster

Midsummer captures a figure mid-stride through a sun-drenched wildflower field, the canvas cropped at the waist so the blooms take over completely in a sweep of gold, red and white oil. A hand trails through the flowers as the figure moves forward, the whole painting humming with the particular warmth of a summer afternoon that refuses to end. Painted by Joel Thornton in 2005.
