Same Time Next Year captures three women seated side by side on the sand, sun hats tilted against a brilliant Gulf horizon with their backs to the world. The oil is clean and warm, turquoise water rolling in behind them while the whole scene holds the easy feeling of a tradition nobody ever had to plan twice. Painted by Joel Thornton in 2013.
